What is Upset Forging
Upset forging decreases the length of the part and increases the diameter. Upset forging is commonly used to produce parts such as engine valves, bolts, and screws. Upset forging helps to improve the mechanical properties by realigning the grain to follow the shape of the part, resulting in unbroken grains throughout the part. The result is a component which is considerably stronger than one produced through welding, casting, or machining. Benefits of Upset Forging
